I went to see the movie Changling. Who would ever have guessed that Clint Eastwood would turn out to be such a good motion picture director. I love those Los Angeles in the 20's, 30's, & 40's movies.

So how was your week so far? I am working on my Christmas list and trying to get it finished and wrapped by December 1. Then I can really enjoy Christmas. I have to write earlier. My head feels like it weighs about a thousand pounds. And so to bed!

OOOOOOH....Marco! Politics. My lips are sealed! My mouth is shut. My teeth are clenched. (Grinding..but clenched)I was told, if you don't have something nice to say about someone then you shouldn't say anything. I am NOT saying anything. Capice?

At the moment I am more upset with McCain and his minions than with anyone else. The blogs are my solace. I am not alone.

Today, I didn't go anywhere. The weather looked frightful and I just decided I wasn't going to deal with it. About an hour ago I was watching TV and thought of a wonderful thing to write here....and now I can't remember what it was.

Still nothing. Maybe it will come to me.

It's early and I'm already getting ready to see the Met Opera today. This is more of a modern opera...not a rock opera!!...but not one of the classics of the 19th century and I'll see if it moves me in the way those oldies but goodies do.

Speaking of oldies but goodies...Kenny, when you mention Van Morrison I always have two distinct memories. Moondance Damn! That was a good 'album'. And single! "Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance..." "She gave me love, love, love, crazy love..." "Hey Mr. DJ....on the radio, on the radio.."

Digging into that LP when I got some play-list freedom at KDWB was sweet. The other memory is from Green Bay when Van Morrison hit the Top-40 lists with the inexplicably-pop, Brown Eyed Girl. On one of the few remaining air-checks from WDUZ, I do am embarrassing talk-up at the beginning. "I have a little brown-eyed cow, who gives me milk and cheese....and now I sit home alone with hoof and mouth disease". The only consolation is that I nailed the post!

As for politics on this Saturday morning...all I can say is "What a bunch of maroons".

Damn! I enjoyed that opera. Very very different from what one thinks of as opera. At times discordant and the various arias at times jarringly unmelodious. Still, at times the combination of music, intensity, and theatricality actually caused those shivers you hear so much about. Mr. Atomic. Even the composer took a curtain call. Went out to eat tonight and discovered for the first time how difficult that is when you aren't having meat. I managed and it really didn't matter anyway because I was there for the convo...not for the food.

Speaking of hitting the post...What is your favorite song for hitting the post. At U100 I had one DJ who hit the post on Stairway To Heaven. Did the weather, promo'd the next 24 hours of DJ, the next hour of music, and nailed it! Boy did it ever suck! How about the DJ at KSTP who tried to talk-up Rich Girl? I'll have to think about this. Do the DJ's of the current millennium do posts?
